Hyatt Regency Jiaxing. Photo: Hyatt Hyatt has opened its first Hyatt Regency hotel in Jiaxing, adding a new 201-room property on the shores of South Lake in the Chinese city’s historic water town district.
Hyatt Regency Jiaxing Nanhu officially opened on September 28, marking the latest addition to Hyatt’s growing presence in China’s Yangtze River Delta region.
Wuzhen, Jiaxing. Phoo: ShutterstockThe hotel is located next to Nanhu Place, a lakeside complex with shops, restaurants and entertainment, and offers access to South Lake and several of Jiaxing’s historic attractions.
The opening also follows the recent launch of Hyatt Place Jiaxing Nanhu. The two hotels operate alongside each other, giving the area both a full-service Hyatt Regency property and the more streamlined accommodation model of Hyatt Place.
Jiaxing is within driving distance of several major cities in the Yangtze River Delta. Hyatt says Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou can each be reached in about an hour by car, while high-speed rail provides additional connections across the region.
The hotel has 201 guestrooms and suites, with floor-to-ceiling windows, dedicated workspaces, modern technology and contemporary bathrooms. Suites and executive-floor rooms can also include access to the Regency Club, which offers breakfast, drinks and evening cocktails.
Families have access to Camp Hyatt, while other leisure facilities include a 24-hour fitness center and an indoor heated swimming pool. Walking and jogging routes along South Lake are also nearby.
Dining is centered around three main venues. The Lobby Lounge is designed around a Jiangnan courtyard concept, while Xiangyue Chinese Restaurant focuses on local and seasonal cuisine. Market Cafe offers international and local dishes throughout the day, with outdoor seating overlooking the lake.
The property is also targeting business and events. It has more than 4,500 square meters of meeting and event space, including a pillarless grand ballroom, a junior ballroom and 10 VIP meeting rooms.
The location puts guests close to several of Jiaxing’s main cultural attractions, including the South Lake Scenic Area, Yuehe Historic District and Zicheng Ruins Park.
The opening comes with a World of Hyatt promotion running through December 31, 2026. Members can earn 500 bonus points for qualifying nights at the new hotel during the promotional period, with no separate registration required.
Hyatt Regency Jiaxing Nanhu is the latest example of the company expanding its hotel portfolio in the Yangtze River Delta, one of China’s most connected and heavily visited regions.
