Bangkok. Photo: Shutterstock The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) says weather and travel conditions in Bangkok and surrounding areas have improved following the massive flooding that left at least 23 dead and affected 2.6 million, with major tourist areas and attractions remaining accessible.
Visitors can continue exploring Bangkok, including Siam, Ratchaprasong, Chinatown, Talat Noi, Song Wat, the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun. Travelers are advised to check current weather and transport conditions before setting out.
Most tourist destinations across Thailand also remain open and accessible, including Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, Phuket, Krabi, Surat Thani and Hat Yai. Some outdoor and marine activities may still depend on local weather.
Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports remain open and operational. Bangkok’s Airport Rail Link, Red Line, BTS Skytrain and MRT are also operating.
Thai Airways said it is continuing to clear delayed baggage at Suvarnabhumi, with luggage being delivered progressively to passengers. The airline also cancelled selected domestic and international flights on Tueadaym September 29. Passengers are advised to check their latest flight and baggage status directly with Thai Airways.
Airports across the rest of Thailand are operating, while most rail, bus and marine services continue to run. Travelers should check individual services before departure, particularly where weather conditions could affect schedules.
TAT said it will continue to provide updates in coordination with the relevant authorities.
