The Romanian airline AnimaWings announced that it has begun a judicial reorganization process.

According to the company, the move is intended to protect its continued operations, stabilize operations, and reorganize its liabilities. The company has not announced the cessation of operations, and it continues to operate flights. At the same time, it notes that the process is being carried out under court supervision and within the framework of Romanian insolvency laws.

AnimaWings clarifies that flight operations are continuing, but due to the situation and available capacity, adjustments to schedules are expected in the near future.

Changes and Cancellations Are Possible

According to the company's announcement, some flights may undergo schedule changes, and in some cases there may also be spot cancellations, depending on available capacity.

Passengers whose flights are affected will be notified directly via the contact details provided in their booking. Where applicable, passengers will be offered a refund or alternative travel.

The company also notes that due to the volume of inquiries, customer service response times may be longer than usual.

AnimaWings asks ticket holders to monitor the messages sent to them and check their flight and booking status before arriving at the airport.

For passengers, this means they should monitor for changes to their flight, especially given the possibility of schedule adjustments or spot cancellations.

Young Airline With Rapid Expansion

AnimaWings was founded in 2020, and its first flight took place in July of that year. The company's first scheduled commercial flight took off on January 15, 2025.

Since then, the company has significantly accelerated its growth rate. In April 2026, the company's CEO reported that AnimaWings had reached a fleet of 7 aircraft and launched approximately 30 new routes in just one year.

The expansion continued thereafter. In August, the company announced the addition of an eighth aircraft to its fleet, and on its official website it currently lists a fleet of eight Airbus aircraft: six Airbus A220-300s and two Airbus A320-200s.

The company also presented ambitious growth plans for the coming years, alongside continued expansion of its network of scheduled routes and charter flights.

More Than 50 Routes in the Summer

Ahead of the 2026 summer season, AnimaWings announced that it will operate more than 50 routes, expanding operations from Bucharest and regional bases in Romania.

During the year, the company added new routes to cities including Frankfurt, Vienna, Copenhagen, Rotterdam and other destinations throughout Europe.

At the same time, AnimaWings expanded its operations from the airports of Timisoara and Cluj-Napoca, as part of the strategy to increase its presence in the Romanian market.

As PassportNews reported in June, the company then expanded its operations to Greece and Italy, with new routes between Romania and Thessaloniki and Olbia in Sardinia.

The current announcement of the start of the reorganization process comes, therefore, after a period of rapid expansion in the company's fleet, route network, and international operations.
