The Romanian airline issued a new update on Thursday evening, October 1, stating that the company's flights will be temporarily suspended starting tomorrow, October 2, until October 24, 2026.
This is a significant development compared to the update the company published yesterday, in which it announced that it is in the process of restructuring and that its flight schedule will undergo adjustments according to operational capacity and aircraft availability.
AnimaWings now clarifies that flight operations will be suspended for the next 23 days, and that it plans to resume operations on October 25, coinciding with the opening of the winter aviation season.
However, even with the return to activity, the company is not expected to return to the original flight schedule at this stage. According to the new update, starting October 25, a revised flight schedule will be implemented, which will be adjusted to the aircraft that will be available in the company's fleet at that time.
AnimaWings explains that flight cancellations in the systems are being carried out gradually and according to the travel date. Passengers whose flights have been canceled are expected to receive a cancellation notification to the email address linked to the reservation.
Refunds for affected orders will then also be handled, in accordance with the legal framework applicable to the cases.
The company notes that due to the large volume of inquiries, passengers who have already submitted a request are asked not to forward the same request through multiple channels at the same time, including email and phone. The company expects to process all affected reservations gradually.
As mentioned, the development comes after AnimaWings announced yesterday that it had initiated a legal reorganization process, which it said was intended to protect the continuity of operations and stabilize the company. Earlier today, the company announced that it would operate with only two aircraft and explained the reasons for the dramatic move.
The company explained that the move is mainly due to recurring technical problems that affected the availability of aircraft in the fleet and consequently affected operational, commercial and financial activities, along with economic pressures and increased operating costs.
In yesterday's update, the company also announced that it is continuing to operate flights and that the activity schedule will be adjusted in the coming days to the available operational capacity.
The new update from this evening changes the picture significantly: starting October 2, flights are temporarily halted, and the next target for resumption of operations is October 25.
