Air India and Singapore Airlines are expanding their commercial partnership, giving passengers more ways to book flights between India and Singapore from October 15, 2026.
Phase One: 126 Weekly Flights
The airlines are launching the first phase of initiatives under a commercial cooperation framework signed in January. The changes will cover 126 weekly flights connecting Singapore with eight Indian cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
One of the main changes will remove a restriction on codeshare bookings. Currently, passengers booking an eligible Air India-operated codeshare through Singapore Airlines must also include a Singapore Airlines-operated flight, and the same applies in the opposite direction.
From October 15, that requirement will be dropped. What this means is that passengers will be able to book eligible flights between India and Singapore operated by either airline as standalone journeys through the other carrier’s website, mobile app, and appointed travel agencies.
The move will give travelers more flight combinations when choosing between the two airlines and could make it easier to find schedules that fit their plans.
Priority Check-In and Boarding Privileges
The carriers have also been expanding their frequent flyer cooperation. In April 2026, Air India’s Maharaja Club and Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer programs expanded the number of eligible booking classes and revised mileage earning rates across all cabin classes.
Further reciprocal benefits are planned from the second quarter of 2027. Eligible Maharaja Club Platinum and KrisFlyer PPS Club members will receive priority check-in and boarding privileges, while Maharaja Club Silver and KrisFlyer Elite Silver members will receive additional baggage allowances and priority boarding on eligible routes.
The two airlines are also working on additional measures, including better schedule connections designed to reduce layovers and waiting times, enhanced options for corporate travelers and other changes aimed at making journeys between the two countries easier.
Air India Chief Commercial Officer Nipun Agarwal said the partnership would help the airline expand its global network while giving passengers more choice and convenience.
Singapore Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Lee Lik Hsin said demand for travel between Singapore and India remains strong and that the partnership would provide customers with more options and improved frequent flyer benefits.
Air India and Singapore Airlines currently have a codeshare agreement covering 77 destinations across 27 countries and territories. Their networks connect through hubs in Delhi, Mumbai and Singapore, providing onward access to destinations across Asia, Europe, North America, Australia and other markets.
