The return service from Seville is scheduled to operate from September 9, 2027, through January 9, 2028, and again from February 19 through June 4, 2028.
The route will be operated with Air Canada's Airbus A321XLR aircraft, configured with 14 Signature Class seats that convert into lie-flat beds and 168 Economy Class seats. The aircraft is designed to serve longer routes with a single-aisle layout, allowing the airline to add destinations that may not require larger widebody aircraft.
Tickets are already on sale through Air Canada's website and travel agents.
New Connection to Southern Spain
Seville, Spain. Photo: Shutterstock Seville, the capital of Andalusia, is known for its historic architecture, food scene, festivals and outdoor culture. The new service is intended to give Canadian travellers easier access to the city and the wider region during the spring and fall, when temperatures are generally milder than in the peak summer months.
The route will also provide connecting passengers with access to Air Canada's Montréal hub, with onward connections across North America, the Caribbean and Latin America. Travelers connecting to the United States can use U.S. customs preclearance facilities in Montréal, allowing them to complete border formalities before boarding their onward flight.
Air Canada said the route will be the first direct transatlantic connection for Seville, opening a new link between the city and Canada. The airline also described itself as the only carrier offering transatlantic service to and from Seville.
José Luis Sanz, mayor of Seville, said the connection would support tourism, business, trade and cultural exchanges while strengthening the city's links with North America. Representatives of Montréal's airport authority and tourism sector also welcomed the announcement, pointing to the route's potential to improve connectivity and support tourism throughout the year.
"The addition of Seville further bolsters Air Canada’s growing global network and cements Air Canada as the largest airline by seats offered between Canada and Spain.
As the only non-stop service between the city and North America, Air Canada's new service will unlock more of Andalusia and the world for our customers and Aeroplan Members while delivering a step-change in global connectivity for Seville," commented Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, and President of Cargo, at Air Canada.
The Seville service adds to Air Canada's expanding European network. The airline has also announced new Montréal routes to Basel-Mulhouse and Dubrovnik for summer 2027, alongside plans to extend services to Tenerife, Lima and Guatemala City to year-round operations.
