Wizz Air continues to expand its operations across Europe Acording to traffic data published for September 2026, the airline recorded significant growth in the number of passengers compared to last year.

According to official data, 7,277,803 passengers flew with Wizz Air during September, compared to 6,265,236 passengers in September 2025.

This is an increase of approximately 16.2% within a year, illustrating the low-cost airline's rate of expansion and the increase in seat supply across its network.

Alongside the sharp increase in passenger numbers, Wizz Air's load factor in September was 86.1%.

For comparison, in September 2025, the company recorded an occupancy rate of 92.8%.

This is a decrease of 6.7%, with the gap between passenger growth and occupancy reflecting, among other things, capacity expansion and the addition of seats to the company's network.

The cumulative data from the beginning of 2026 indicates an even broader picture.

From January to September 2026, Wizz Air carried approximately 61.36 million passengers, compared to approximately 51.13 million passengers in the same period in 2025.

This represents a growth of approximately 20% in the number of passengers in the first nine months of the year.

The growth comes as Wizz Air continues to add aircraft, expand bases, open new routes, and increase activity in a long list of European markets.

September was a strong month for the company, but lower than August 2026, when Wizz Air flew 8,699,468 passengers, with an occupancy rate of 95.6%.

In July, the company recorded 8,357,282 passengers, and in June, 7,480,636 passengers.

The data shows that even after the summer peak, Wizz Air maintained a significantly higher volume of activity in September than a year earlier.
