Ground Incident at JFK Airport: Japan Airlines Plane Hits Arkia Charter Plane

A Japan Airlines plane and an Arkia charter aircraft made contact during ground operations at JFK Airport. Both planes were empty at the time of the incident. Arkia is working to place passengers on alternative flights

An unusual accident occurred on Sunday at JFK Airport in New York. Japan Airlines plane collided with a Hi Fly chartered plane, operated for Arkia, during a towing maneuver on the ground.

Arkia's Airbus A330 was empty; there were no passengers or crew on board. There were also no passengers on the Japan Airlines plane at the time. There were no injuries in the incident.

Arkia flight passengers have received an update on the situation, and the company is working to distribute passengers on alternative flights. Arkia stated that Hi Fly will provide a replacement plane, and operations are expected to continue as usual.

in February, we reported on a similar incident involving Japan Airlines. Then, the right wing of Japan Airlines Flight 68 struck the tail of a Delta Air Lines plane while Delta Flight 1921, with no injuries reported.
