Berlin Takes Off: 155 Destinations and 80 Airlines in Summer 2026, Including a New Air Canada Route

BER's new summer schedule marks a significant leap forward: the return of transatlantic flights with a new route to Montreal, strengthened flights to New York, and a broad expansion of dozens of destinations in Europe and North America

Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BERis getting ready for an exceptionally busy summer season in 2026, announcing a wide range of flights to 155 destinations in 55 countries via 80 different airlines. The new flight schedule, which will come into effect on March 29 and run until October 24, reflects a significant recovery and expansion in European and international aviation.

Highlights: Air Canada will launch a new direct route between Berlin and Montreal, operating from July 3 to October 11 with three to four flights per week. At the same time, Air Transat will resume service to Toronto starting in early May, with a three-times-weekly frequency, earlier than last year.

Routes to the United States are also strengthening. Delta Air Lines will resume operations from Berlin to New York from the end of March, and will subsequently operate daily flights throughout the summer season. United Airlines will continue to operate daily flights to Newark, which solidifies BER's transatlantic connectivity.

Through the four main hubs, Montreal, Toronto, New York JFK, and Newark, passengers enjoy convenient access to a wide range of destinations in North America.

The connection to Asia is also maintained, with Hainan Airlines continuing to operate five weekly flights to Beijing, with connections to major cities such as Shanghai, Tokyo and Bangkok.

In the European arena, airlines are significantly expanding their operations: Irwings is adding routes to London, Lisbon, and Sarajevo, along with additional vacation destinations, and is increasing its fleet of aircraft at its Berlin base. EasyJet is launching a new route to Milan Malpensa, and Volotea will open a route to Florence.

Wizz Air is entering a particularly significant growth phase, with an expansion of its seat offering by approximately 90% and the addition of destinations and frequencies to Eastern and Central Europe, including Bratislava, Timisoara, and Cluj-Napoca.

At the same time, airBaltic is increasing frequencies to Riga and Vilnius, and AJet will open a new route to Bodrum in Turkey, a move that strengthens the offer of summer holidays from the German capital.

The most popular destinations remained stable this year, with high demand for Mallorca, Antalya, Paris, Vienna and Zurich.

In conclusion, the new flight schedule illustrates the continued strengthening of BER as a major aviation gateway in Europe, with ever-expanding connectivity between the continent and international. destinations, with an emphasis on North America.
