After recently marking "a new era of global travel" by launching its first-ever route to Europe in Rome, Italy, the fifth-largest airline in the U.S. by passengers, Alaska Airlines, is preparing for another launch.
This time around, it's time for Londoners to enjoy nonstop transatlantic flights to Seattle starting May 21, 2026.
The oneworld Alliance company, which operates in over 140 destinations, will launch the first-ever direct, year-round, daily route between the two cities via the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Passengers will benefit from upgraded cabins and premium seats.
The US Embassy in London took the opportunity to send an important message via X: "America’s 250th anniversary year is a great reason for UK travelers to explore more of the United States and a perfect time to celebrate the addition of a new London-Seattle via Alaska Airlines route starting on May 21!"
"This service further expands our transatlantic travel corridor and choices for west coast exploration," the embassy added.
