Copa Airlines, the LatAm Star Alliance member recognized as the most punctual carrier in the world in 2025 by CIRIUM, and global aircraft manufacturer Boeing have unveiled a special soccer-themed 737 MAX.

The aircraft, called "the Sele Plane", was "painted in the red 'marea roja' (red tide) and adorned with the gold harpy eagle on its crest", honoring Panama’s Men’s National Team qualifying for their second-ever World Cup, as explained by Boeing in a social media announcement.

Copa Airlines on X: "Today we present #ElAviónDeLaSele, which carries the hope of a country that believed, the passion of a Red Tide that never stopped rising."

The company explained the design of the special livery was "inspired by the energy of our people, in moments that marked our history, in the strength and determination of our idols, and in the pride of who we are. This plane won't just carry our Sele… it carries Panama's dream toward the 2026 World Cup."

Copa Airlines, which recently announced it will become the first airline in Latin America to add Starlink Internet on its flights and added a new nonstop daily service connecting Fort Lauderdale to Panama, is the official airline and sponsor of the Panama National Football Team, together with the Panamanian Football Federation (FEPAFUT).
