Qantas Frequent Flyers have gained new ways to use their points after the airline launched a major partnership with Philippine Airlines, opening access to its entire global network.

The agreement allows members to book Classic Reward seats across Philippine Airlines’ routes, significantly expanding travel options across Southeast Asia, North America and the Middle East. The partnership also introduces access to 15 island destinations, including Boracay, Cebu and Palawan, through connections in Manila.

Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance said the collaboration reflects growing demand for more diverse redemption options among members, particularly for leisure travel beyond major international hubs.

“Many of our members want their points to take them further than just the major hubs. Partnering with Philippine Airlines opens up more of Asia and adds 15 destinations previously missing from our partner network,” Glance said.

He added that the new partnership allows travelers to build full island-hopping itineraries using points, with seamless connections through Manila to some of Southeast Asia’s most popular beach destinations.

Philippine Airlines President Richard Nuttall said the partnership strengthens long-standing ties with Australia and enhances flexibility for loyalty programme members.

“Loyalty partnerships are an important way we extend the reach of Mabuhay Miles and create more value for our members,” Nuttall said. “Together with Qantas, we are strengthening our links with Australia, making it simpler for Australians to visit the Philippines while enjoying greater choice and flexibility with their miles.”

The airline currently operates 22 weekly flights between Australia and Manila, including daily services from Sydney and Brisbane using Airbus aircraft. Classic Reward seats are available across Economy, Premium Economy and Business cabins on these routes.

The expansion comes as Australian travel demand for the Philippines continues to rise, with visitor arrivals up 19%  in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to tourism data.

The partnership adds to Qantas’ wider network of more than 30 airline partners, further increasing reward seat availability for frequent flyers planning long-haul and regional travel.
