Spanish airline Iberia has canceled all flights to and from Caracas following disruptions at Maiquetía International Airport caused by a recent earthquake in Venezuela, the carrier confirmed in a social media post today.

The airline said operations on Thursday (June 26) and Friday (June 26) have been suspended due to the situation at the airport, with further schedule impacts possible in the coming days as authorities assess damage and restore normal operations.

In its statement shared, Iberia expressed solidarity with those affected by the earthquake and said passenger safety remains the priority as it continues to monitor conditions in coordination with aviation authorities.

Flexible Booking Options

To support affected travelers, the airline has introduced a flexible booking policy for all flights to and from Caracas until July 25. Passengers will be able to rebook their journeys or request a full refund at no additional cost, depending on their preference.

Maiquetía Airport, which serves Venezuela’s capital, is a key international gateway and disruptions there are expected to affect multiple carriers operating regional and long-haul services.

Iberia said it will provide further updates as operational conditions evolve and advised passengers to check their booking status before traveling.
