Traveling to or from London Luton Airport this week are being advised to plan ahead as overnight road closures are set to affect access to the airport.
According to London Luton Airport, Vauxhall Way, one of the main routes serving the airport, will be closed overnight for five consecutive nights beginning Monday, 29 June, 2026.
The temporary closures are expected to affect motorists traveling during the evening and overnight hours, with drivers urged to check their route before setting off and allow extra time for their journey.
According to the airport, Vauxhall Way will be closed between Eaton Green Road and Crawley Green Road for the second phase of the works, with diversions via Crawley Green Road, St Marys Roundabout, Windmill Road, Kimpton Road and Vauxhall Way.
As always, passengers are recommended to consider alternative travel arrangements when necessary to avoid potential delays.
The planned roadworks follow four consecutive nights of road closures set in place between June 24 and June 28 following a similar travel advisory related to the M1 motorway, which also affected journeys to and from the airport.
The new closures come during one of the busiest periods of the summer travel season, when passenger numbers at UK airports are typically higher due to school holidays and increased leisure travel.
While airport operations and flights are expected to continue as normal, road access to the terminal may take longer than usual during the overnight closures.
Passengers with early-morning or late-evening flights should allow extra time to reach the airport and check their journey before traveling.
