JetBlue has unveiled its own special commemorative version of an aicrfat to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, joining United Airlines and American Airlines in their display of specal livery.
The "Vets in Blue" jet, which is also honoring the service and sacrifice of U.S. military veterans and active-duty personnel, features a newly added "250" design showcased at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport during a ceremony attended by Sean Duffy, JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty, and an all-veteran JetBlue flight crew.
The special livery builds on JetBlue's existing "Vets in Blue" aircraft, transforming it into a flying tribute marking America's 250-year history while continuing to recognize veterans and active-duty service members. To accompany the launch, the airline is releasing a limited edition of 1,776 collectible trading cards featuring the aircraft.
"As we mark America's 250th anniversary, JetBlue is proud to celebrate the spirit of service, community and connection that has shaped our country," CEO Joanna Geraghty said, adding that the aircraft honors both the historic milestone and the veterans who have helped defend the nation.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy praised the initiative, saying the aircraft "embodies the great American spirit and reminds passengers our nation is worth celebrating."
Special Onboard Tributes Throughout July
JetBlue is extending the anniversary celebration across its network with several passenger-focused initiatives throughout July.
Customers traveling on JetBlue flights will see a commemorative welcome screen featuring the new "250" design and can watch a special inflight video narrated by the airline's Chief Operating Officer, Warren Christie, a U.S. Navy veteran. The video highlights the nation's 250-year history while recognizing veterans and JetBlue employees with military backgrounds.
The airline also announced a month-long volunteer campaign supporting veterans in communities across its network.
JetBlue employees will assemble care packages containing sock bundles and handwritten notes of appreciation for distribution to local Veterans Affairs hospitals. Additional volunteer events organized through the airline's Vets in Blue employee resource group will also take place throughout the month.
