As a reminder, Romania has warned that a court dispute involving its air navigation provider could lead to a severe disruption or potential closure of national airspace for an entire month, raising major civil flight concerns.

At the end of June, the country's Supreme Council of National Defense issued a harsh warning, saying that any suspension of air navigation services provided by the Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration (ROMATSA) would severely impact European air traffic, the country's supply chains, as well as NATO operations.

The supreme council's warning followed the Bucharest Court of Appeal's ruling in February to suspend ROMATSA's certificate as Romania's only air navigation service provider for 30 days. The case was brought by 12 air traffic controllers who were allegedly discriminated against while trying to get employment from the company.
