ITA Airways. Photo: Ivri Hazon The Italian airline ITA Airways is expanding its operations on the Rome-Tel Aviv route. Starting October 25, a third daily flight will operate between Fiumicino Airport, Italy's largest airport, and Ben Gurion Airport.
The new service will be added to the two existing daily flights. This is expected to increase the scope of operations on the route to more than 20 weekly flights in each direction.
The additional flight from Rome, AZ812, will depart on October 25 at 4:00 PM and land at Ben Gurion Airport at 8:20 PM. The first additional flight in the opposite direction, AZ815, is scheduled to depart Ben Gurion Airport on October 26 at 8:30 AM and land in Rome at 11:20 AM. All times are local times.
The route is operated on an Airbus A321neo aircraft, featuring business classes with flat-bed seats, premium economy and economy. The additional frequency will increase direct flight options between Israel and Italy and the options for connecting via Rome to additional destinations in the ITA Airways network.
Flights are already on sale on the ITA Airways website. A PassportNews check shows that the starting price is about 130 euros one way, in economy class.
