Israel and USA Successfully Complete Licensing to Convert Boeing 777 to Cargo Aircraft

After about five years of intense work, the Israeli Civil Aviation Authority and the FAA approved the engineering conversion project led by IAI, increasing the cargo capacity of the aircraft up to 100 tons. Transportation Minister: "A national achievement illustrating Israel's advanced capabilities in civil aviation."

The IAI innovation is designed to tow aircraft without activating engines, saving jet fuel and reducing pollution in airports. In 2009, IAI collaborated with the French company TLD to manufacture the tug, with the first prototype built in France in 2011. Now, the development is expected to become a standard procedure in aircraft ground movements
