The United Arab Emirates' Emirates Airlines and Nigeria's Air Peace have announced the launch of a bilateral interline agreement, based on existing cooperation between the two, with the aim of expanding air connectivity between Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.

The agreement allows passengers on both airlines to fly on a single ticket, with direct baggage transfer on selected routes, enhancing the convenience and travel experience. As part of the expansion, Emirates passengers will be able to connect to additional destinations on Air Peace’s network in West Africa, beyond the 13 cities in Nigeria already included.

These new destinations include Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Liberia, opening up greater access for African passengers to Emirates’ global network and other products.

For Air Peace, the agreement connects its extensive route network in West and Central Africa to Emirates’ hub in Dubai, as well as key destinations including London Heathrow, London Gatwick and London Stansted, alongside Abidjan, Accra and Lagos. The move comes amid high demand for flights between Nigeria and the UK, offering passengers greater flexibility and choice.

Air Peace operates a fleet of more than 50 aircraft, including Boeing 777s, Boeing 737s and Embraer aircraft, and operates an expanding network of domestic, regional and international routes across Africa and beyond. The company states that it continues to focus on strengthening intra-African connectivity and supporting trade and tourism on the continent.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer: “Enhancing our interline partnership with Air Peace allows us to expand our footprint across more of Africa, creating new opportunities for people to fly better with Emirates, while helping international tourists explore more of the region, via Lagos.”

Nowel NgalaChief Commercial Officer, Air Peace: “This interline agreement with Emirates represents a major step in Air Peace’s strategic vision to connect Africa more efficiently to global markets. By combining our strong regional presence with Emirates’ extensive international network, we are delivering seamless connectivity, improved travel experience, and greater access to key global destinations for African travellers.”

In recent years, Emirates has been expanding its international partnerships around the world. Among other things, last year it began a collaboration with the Mexican airline Viva Aerobus.

Today, January 26, 2026, the airline made another important announcement regarding the expansion of its exclusive chauffeur-drive services in Japan to Narita International Airport and Kansai International Airport.
