According to Starlink’s official statement, the company is offering free internet access through July 25 for users in affected areas. Existing customers will receive service credits, while former users can temporarily reactivate their service at no cost. Starlink also said it is working to support connectivity in regions where infrastructure has been damaged, helping restore communications for both residents and emergency responders.

The United Nations says the earthquakes have caused widespread destruction in northern Venezuela, particularly in coastal and urban areas. UN agencies report close to seven million Venezuelans could be affected by this week’s double earthquakes, with the last death toll reported on June 26 rising to at least 235 people.

A total of 30 international search-and-rescue teams coordinated through the UN have been deployed to assist local authorities, with more than 1,600 personnel and more than 100 dogs.

Relief efforts are focused on locating survivors, providing medical assistance, and delivering emergency supplies to affected communities.

The UN has also stressed that communication networks remain critical during the response phase, as many residents are relying on mobile and internet access to reach family members and request assistance.

Starlink’s temporary free service is intended to help bridge connectivity gaps while local telecommunications infrastructure is restored.

Last month, we reported that the world's largest American airline, American Airlines, announced a massive upgrade to the flight experience by installing the Starlink satellite internet system on over 500 narrow-body aircraft starting in the first quarter of 2027.
