Air Canada plans to renew its code-sharing agreement with Air India, another Star Alliance member.
The renewed agreement is scheduled to take effect on December 2, 2025, subject to regulatory approval.
This agreement will provide Air India customers with easy access to six destinations across Canada, with connecting flights from Vancouver and London Heathrow. As part of the collaboration, Air India will place its AI flight code on Air Canada's flights to Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal, and Halifax, as well as on flights from London to Vancouver and Calgary.
Simultaneously, Air Canada passengers will enjoy enhanced connectivity to major Indian destinations through Air India's connecting flights. They will easily reach Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kochi via Delhi, and Delhi and Mumbai via London. Travelers will benefit from unified ticketing, baggage perks, and mutual point accumulation in both airlines' loyalty programs, with flights gradually opening for sale pending regulatory approval.

This cooperation will enable travelers to enjoy a wider range of flight routes between Canada and India, along with improved connection times and expanded continuation options across both companies' networks. This move aims to streamline travel for passengers between the two countries, offering a more seamless and diverse travel experience.
What Else is New? Just two days ago, Air Canada introduced its most comprehensive upgrade plan in its history: 737 MAX aircraft transitioning to Air Canada Rouge, upgraded Airbus jets joining the main brand, and the Express fleet receiving refurbished cabins.
That same day, the Indian airline unveiled a new in-flight menu featuring diverse Indian cuisine alongside international dishes with Asian and European influences.
