British Airways has officially launched its first-ever service to St. Louis, Missouri, with the inaugural flight from London Heathrow arriving on April 19, 2026. The aircraft touched down at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) at around 7:30 p.m. local time, marking the city as the airline’s 27th US destination.

The new route makes the British carrier the only one to offer a nonstop connection between St. Louis and London, further strengthening links between the US Midwest and the UK capital, while also giving passengers access to wider global connections through Heathrow, which serves more than 200 destinations.

The arrival was marked with a welcome ceremony on the ground. Passengers were greeted with goodie bags, live entertainment and British-themed refreshments. On the departure side, the first outbound flight included a cake- and ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the start of operations.

There was also a small detail designed to mark the occasion. Every cabin crew member on the inaugural St. Louis departure was named Louis or Louise, a nod to the city’s name. St. Louis-based Build-A-Bear Workshop also joined the celebration, gifting customized Timeless Teddy Bears to passengers traveling on the first service.

Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer at British Airways: “This route marks an important milestone for both British Airways and St. Louis. With the strong support of the airport, tourism partners and the wider St. Louis community, we look forward to welcoming more business and leisure customers to discover everything the city has to offer.”

Rhonda Hamm Niebruegge, CEO and STL Director: “With London joining the list of destinations, we celebrate a significant moment in the airport’s storied history. Today, London signifies the dawn of a new era for international travelers at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.”

The service will operate four times per week during the summer season. Flights will be operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with three cabin options available: economy, premium economy and business class. Select flights will feature the Club Suite cabin, which offers lie-flat seating and direct aisle access.

The route is also supported by the Atlantic Joint Business partnership, which includes American Airlines, Iberia, Finnair, Aer Lingus and LEVEL, helping connect passengers across Europe and North America.
